Our vision is that the SEASTAINABLE docuseries will inspire people to do the right things. Giving them, Hope for the Oceans.
Producer/Director: Michael Speltz grew up in Hawaii. The Hawaiian islands is where he saw firsthand the delicate balance of the oceans. Learning about coral and sea life at the Hawaiian Institute of Marine Biology. That knowledge stuck with him and drove him to exploring the relationship between humans and aquatic life through his passion – film.
“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.”
Jacques-Yves Cousteau
Inspiration can happen in many ways and Michael Speltz was inspired by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Cousteau’s many books and movies took him on a journey across the globe and under the oceans. We found this statue of Jacques-Yves Cousteau when we were shooting a segment in La Paz, Mexico, at the Sea of Cortez.
This docuseries represents a labor of love for me. It’s not too late, we can change the tide toward sustainable seafood and help our planet”
